Scared of it?

Nope? You man.

Seriously, are you afraid of death?

To answer my own question, I'm not afraid because there is no way to prevent it. It will come eventually. Might be tomorrow, might be next week, might be in 60 years tiome when I'm a wrinkled up old prune with no hair and even less teeth.

What I am afraid of though is dying alone, dying without achieving anything in this world, dying in horrible circumstances (being murdered would suck - however I haven't contemplated suicide on the plus side).

But dying? No, not scared of that one bit.

I'm more afraid of being a vegetable or being totally paralyzed than dying. I also don't know if there is an afterlife, so if not, I best have fun now, eh?

crosses my mind quite a lot, but I wouldn't say I was scared of. Horrific circumstances like drowning, murder etc are a whole lot more frightening than death itself.

The manner doesnt scare me so much as worry me sometimes, but being dead I am sorta looking forward to.

I cant wait to see what is REALLY on the other side, and yes I DO believe in an afterlife.

Hmmm...I CAN wait...dont get me wrong, but its something I definitely dont dread.

I'm not afraid of death. I could go today and I'd be cool with it. I'd like a longer life, of course, but I'm happy with who and where I am as a person and everyone I care about knows I love them, and that's what matters.

My fear would be dying before my kids are old enough to care for themselves. Otherwise no I'm not afraid of it.

No. The period would have been the end of my post, but I need at least 5 characters.

When I was little I used to have panic attacks when I thought about dying... I'm not so much scared of it now as you all have said it is unavoidable..

...it is unavoidable..

Apparently not for long:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/...tality-only-20-years-away-says-scientist.html

The Telegraph said:
The 61-year-old American, who has predicted new technologies arriving before, says our understanding of genes and computer technology is accelerating at an incredible rate.

He says theoretically, at the rate our understanding is increasing, nanotechnologies capable of replacing many of our vital organs could be available in 20 years time.

Well I don't believe in the magical afterlife (nor in pixies or fairies LOL), so I do believe we only get one shot at this. I worry that people that believe otherwise are fooling themselves and not doing all they should be doing in this one ride on the carousel. Live like you're not coming back people! In that sense, death does worry me in terms of it being "the end", but I hope to take that fear away by being happy with all I did at the end.
