I won't go into grave detail but right now I am dealing with a great deal in my family unit. A close family member of mine has had a stroke. This is usually not a good thing to here. When it comes to a stroke anything can happen to the body including paralysis or even death. So far she seems to be doing all right but you never know one day to the next.

When someone has a stroke they are prone to having another one. I had a close family friend who had a stroke and while recovering he had another one that killed him, so knowing that this has now happen to a close family member has me a bit on edge. Anyway, I just wanted to come here and let all this out. This hasn't been an easy time in my family, we have been dealing with a great deal and now this has happened as well. I guess all we can do right now is hope and pray that she will be all right.

Depends why they had the stroke pafjlh. There are several things that can cause a stroke, and there is some truth that in SOME INSTANCES there is a chance for another stroke but not in ALL INSTANCES. Any idea the cause? Blood clots are the most common reason, but you can have a stroke from things like narrowing of the blood vessels to the brain and a whole host of other things that are treatable. Think positive thoughts modern medicine has come a long way. I will be thinking of you and your family Good luck!

I'm sorry everything is so stressful right now hun. My cousin is just a few years older than myself and had a random stroke at work last year. He is completely fine now and they are not worried about future strokes. It turned out they had him on the wrong heart medication and he had a very bad reaction. If they can find the cause of the stroke, they can treat that cause and your family member should be able to avoid future complications. I hope everything goes well in their recover.

Aww that really is terrible to learn! I am sorry that you and your family are going through such a disturbingly tough time! It is always great to let things out and I am glad you found this forum as a platform to release all the pent up frustration and stress. Hang in there and I will definitely keep you and your family in my prayers.
Hoping for the best for all of you.

i don't like family crisis as it can bring division or separation that can span over and spill over to even generation yet unborn

I understand the family crisis that has to do with a family member being terminally sick. It can rattle even the strongest of persons. But what everyone needs to do now is to stay calm and be supportive of each other to manage such crisis. Take turns to give care to the affected person. The family should pray together and everyone should stay positive.

I have not been into a situation like this one but if I was I’d focus on being there for my family while taking things one step at a time. I’d educate myself on stroke recovery, support my loved one emotionally, and find moments to rest. Uncertainty is tough, but hope and strength help.

I try to stay calm, communicate openly, and focus on solutions, not blame. During a family crisis, leaning on each other, even if tense, helps. I’ve seen strength come from unity, even in moments filled with fear or uncertainty.

These things happens once in a while in every family. Stay strong and know that this will pass. My own family crisis drove me crazy when my uncle who was very responsible and prayerful turned blind. It really struck hard on me but we all had to show love and support because this could happen to anyone you know.

In the last 10-15 years, a lot of crisis has happened in out family. Some of them were health crisis (for example, my father suffered a heart attack and I had to rushed him to hospital, my wife had a miscarriage, etc.) Some of them were financial crisis (we had to sell assets to pay bank loans). I have learned to cope with these crisis as they are the part of life.

To be honest, I have been dealing with a family crisis, too. My family goes to dialysis sessions three times a week. We are not rich, and there are many times that we struggle financially. I am the only one who helps my parents with their finances while struggling with my health problems, too. It really is challenging, and I hope I'll find a way to make our lives better.
