A school teacher with a foot fetish has been convicted by a court and stood down from teaching.
The male teacher has had his teaching registration cancelled after he was found guilty of grooming a young boy for sexual favours.
The New Zealand Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal said the man had been teaching for nine years where he met his victim, aged 10.
For several years the teacher bought the boy clothing, food and would drive him around in his car.
After a number of years, as the boy moved on to high school, the teacher kept in contact and the relationship became sexual.
In an affidavit, the young man described an incident aged 12.
"The victim removed his sweaty footwear. The [teacher] was fixated with the victim's feet and began to lick his feet and suck his toes. This continued for around 30 seconds."
Ongoing behaviour led to oral sex.
A second boy, a friend of the first boy, detailed similar instances.
The 13-year-old was asked for dirty socks and shoes, which were paid for and replaced by the teacher.
The teacher was found guilty of four charges, including indecent assault.
He was sentenced to 12 months' home detention and 250 hours' of community work
