There are exceptions to the rule, but those few choice comedians are so talented it is obvious that they'd still be funny even if they didn't cuss. Pryor and Murphy are two of those choice comedians.

I'm surprised you put Murphy as one of those comedians. He tried this route and wasn't funny at all.

I don't see what's bad with people cussing. They're just words, there's nothing wrong with saying them. People just think it's bad because the Bible says so.:shrug: Anyways, getting a little off the topic here. Anyways, yeah, I think Dane Cook's pretty funny. Murphy... eh, I saw one of his acts, not as funny as some others. I'd have to say some of my favorites are Lewis Black, Patton Oswald, Greg Giraldo, and Jeff Dunham.

That is your opinion and you have a right to think that way.

That is a generalization and a wrong one at that. Just because people may not like cussing doesn't mean that you know why and can fit them all into a nice little box.

There are several reasons why people may not care for cussing. Look at all of your literary works of art. The are not filled to the brim with foul language. And I doubt it is because of the Bible, though I see nothing wrong at all with God's Word being another reason why people do not prefer a lot of cussing. Others see it as strong language which equates to aggressive behavior. In ethics they teach that cussing is abusive language.

Any way my point was that there are many different good reasons why people do not care for cussing besides the Bible though that is a good reason as well.

the only hilarious comedian i can think of off the top of my head that does not swear is ellen degeneres... and she is hysterical!

Exactly why do people believe cussing is wrong, and that it promotes aggressive behavior? Because it has been pounded into their heads to believe that, by their parents, teachers, adults in general, as well as the Bible. If that hadn't happened, there would be no problem with cussing. Once again, let me say that they are just words. There is nothing wrong with using them. Other words promote aggressive behavior, such as 'Shut up' or the like. Does that make them cuss words? No. It's rude to use them when pointing towards aggressive behavior, but they are not taught by parents and adults and books as a 'forbidden word' if you will.

Um ok, whatever - I'm just telling you what is accepted and taught on a college level. If you don't wish to accept that, like I stated that is your right. But it would behoove you to respect that other people have a right to their views as well which it sounds like you don't. You have one set view on cussing and think that anyone that does not think the way you do has been brain washed. That is ignorant imo. [sarcasm] I don't care for cussing, but I don't personally put people down that do cuss by saying that they have been brainwashed by America's ghetto society. :wtf:[/sarcasm]

I don't think that anyone is brain washed because they think differently from I do, I never said that. I don't care if someone thinks that cussing is wrong, I'm just stating my opinion.
