Damn Apostrophes

Okay, I get on with apostrophes most of the time but I couldn't remember what you do with names ending in S, and the internet has just made the issue even more confusing.

So far as I can tell, you either put:

'This is James' sheep.'

OR

'This is James's sheep.'

Help! What is the correct way of dealing with names that end in S?

Okay.... Tara's site seems to be saying that in fact both are acceptable. But I think James' looks better than James's. Still good to know you can't be wrong

The one posted by Siph must be from Complex if you need a password. Just ask V or one of the mods to help you with that. The only requirements are: 100 quality posts which you have and must be 18 y/0. Good luck

Most ppl use s'. Strunk and White tell you that EVERY possessive ends with 's regardless of the last letter of the word.
