Nope. Never seen that done here, and I've only had one company ask me to bring a photo - which they then never took from me - to an interview.

I'd be gutted if I had to attach a photo. I can imagine that's a minefield of trying to look good whilst also professional. All my decent pictures are sexually suggestive :ninja

I have a whole album on iPhoto that will never see the light of day ;)

Problem is, when I take a picture of myself or pose for someone else with a camera, I'm not picturing what a prospective employer would think, I'm wondering if I can use it as my facebook profile pic. I changed my fb to a pic of a raccoon the other day, and then wondered if I'm getting googled by people I've sent my CV to :eek

It's a fucking cute raccoon though.

I was watching this television programme, some of them did, dunno why :dunno

Nope, I dont really do it unless it was required :D

Some jobs like Flight Attendants or Medical Representatives they require you to send them one....so when I did apply for these jobs b4, I actually had to attach a mug shot. There were even actually size/dimension requirements H X W in inches/cms etc :D

I see, perhaps the person was applying for those kind of jobs, wasn't paying much attention to what jobs they were applying for :D

Do employers actually google you when applying for a job? Do they actually have the time during the interview/hiring process to do so?? :willy_nilly:

You can always make your FB profile non-searchable by some like companies etc for privacy, right? Unless, you don't wanna do that  Then it's understandable :thumbup

Apparently they might do - let's face it, almost everyone has an online presence, if you want to learn something about the people you've narrowed it down to, you could easily put their name in and see what comes up!

I've googled myself and my fb and linkedin profile both come up, but that's about it. I've set my fb so all you can see is that I'm there :p

I've been tempted to put a picture of my tits in the hope I'd get a job.

I'm not worried about them googling me. I have a work email address which hasn't been used on anything other than emails and that's the one I put on my CV. I also turned off my search-ability on facebook and made it private.

And my name is dead common. I check to make sure I'm not on the first 10 pages (last time I checked I wasn't) and I don't think anyone has time to search through 10,800,000 results on google. Even if you add my home town into the search it's still 112,000 results and I'm not on the first few pages.

I think they would and they can but maybe not all eh? :dunno. I know most employers now search one's credit ratings especially if one has to apply for a government position. They said that those give out a lot of info abt a person in manging money plus the type of work and loyalty they wld have for a company 224_animated_ninja_disappearing.gif

And Oh, i guess I fear being easily searched online hence I do more strict security measures like use a nick name etc for FB so that I cant easily be found :p I searched my name too b4, and Nope, I don't appear online unless the searcher knows my other personal info. :eek
