Wherefore art thou my Juliet?

She's somewhere about methinks.
Incorrect. Wherefore does not mean where, it means why. And I believe the correct line from the play was "Wherefore art thou, Romeo?". Juliet was not asking where Romeo was, she was asking why he was Romeo...a Montague and her family's sworn enemy. What DO they teach in British schools anyway?

I humbly admit the error of my assumptions and bow to your superior information. Yes, I may have some... knowledge but it's mostly self taught :p I took English Language but not English Literature at school - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :D

So you never studied Shakespeare in school? That stuff is required here. I've read Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Macbeth, 12th Night...ummm...that's all I can remember. I HATE it when people use wherefore incorrectly. Drives me nuts! :willy_nilly: My mom does it ALL THE TIME! glavauzid.png

I'll not make that mistake again then ;) Never studied it, nope. I do have the complete works of Shakespeare which I flick through sometimes but never officially studied any of it.

I now have an intense desire to watch Romeo and Juliet. :willy_nilly:

I love that movie. Love the way they kept the olde wurlde language.

You're talking about the one with Leo and Claire Danes? :thumbup I think it's awesome. It's in a modern setting but with Shakespearean language. Very cool. I think I'm extra chipper about it because I actually know what they're saying. :cool I have it on DVD. I think I'll pop it in after the Flames lose tonight.

I was indeed talking about that movie. Did you know that Natalie Portman was originally cast for the role of Juliet? She was cast aside eventually for looking too young shall we say during the... love scenes ;)

Well...it's kind of difficult to hear someone talk WHEN THEY'RE NEVER ON SKYPE! :mad

The problem is that often when you're about, it's late here :p

I've managed to chat to Thorny during my work day but that's often at the start of her work day.

Of course, I'm sure you'll hear what a blabbermouth I am soon enough ;)
