About 45.7 million people, 15% of our population, are uninsured. It is unaffordable - the average household pays $15,000. People that are for it believe that universal health care should be sponsored by the government. They also want to heavy regulations on insurance agencies and drug companies. People who are against it believe that universal health care should be approached with a laissez-faire attitude, because it would form due to tax credits given to individuals which they will spend on private health care. They also still believe that health care should be monitored but not mandated or regulated.
