This has got to be the best idea since Offtopicz.com
Joe, you can definitely pull this off and make the best Mustang site on the web. You have been a great webmaster in Offtopicz, you respond to the requests of the members quickly, and you make great decisions when it comes to content. You have a concern of being the best and the biggest.... Well to that I say, excellence breeds excellence. When you have a professional site with great technical advice for Mustang enthusiasts, it will bring in more members that are equally informed and can contribute to the site. By making a site that plays a dual roll (information and offtopic) you will pull in more members than most of these other sites. Your site will appeal to more people; they will have less reason to find other sites to visit, like you do. I know that the core members here will give you tons of help developing technical information to start with, I know that I will. We can put together how-to pages, charts, technical specs, etc.
I think a Mustang site without any offtopic crap would rule the web… and then you just hop over to Offtopicz to bullshit away.
Count on me for any help you want…

IMO, I think it sounds ike an excellent idea. But, I wouldnt completely throw out the idea of re-vamping MF. Think about it. Theyre already very popular and very big. I think if you went through and deleted all the dormant accounts and cut down on the adds it would speed up a bunch. Then you could redirect the whole "off topic" forum over here. That way you would have tech and rides on MF and all the other cool, no holds barred bullshiz ovah here.

Joe, I think that's a great idea.
As long as all mustangs get similar weight in tech articles, I'm game. Sometimes at MF it seems 4.6 gets a lot more tech stuff than the 6ers. So it's sometimes hard for us to find info when we need it. I do think it's a great idea though, I've learned a lot from MF and I'm sure if there was more that was tech only, I'd learn a lot more.
I think we have some really knowledgeable people here (and on MF) that could really contribute.

i learned A LOT from A FEW people on MF. a lot of the mechanically inclined are here, but a few are still over at MF. i know Roundman was really helpful to the automatic tranny people. HRnB is very helpful to the v6 people. if you could create a sort of "dream team" of techies and get them to collaborate their skills and efforts, it could be done. im 100% behind you joe :rock

I have a bunch of V6 step by step modifications that you are welcome to, as well as any V6 support at your new site. I will be also documenting my top end build and dyno results soon, which your also welcome to have.
By the way, if anyone can make a great Mustang site and take it to a new level, you'd be the guy. But how will the site be supported without advertisements?

I'm down, I never ask any questions at MF, because that site went downhill FAST. A new Mustang site that is kickass, and with How-to articles would PWN!!11!

I think it's a great idea to create another mustang site. MF cannot be revamped, too many noobs. You can take the better members with you over to the new site and more will follow. I think that would be the best way. Great idea!

I think that if you started from scratch and made a new forum instead of buying out MF, you should PM the members from MF that you think are "worthy" and tell them about it. Only the people who you want over there, we don't want the know-it-all-start-fights-all-the-time noobs you know. It would help the new forums to grow more quickly.

I go to MF for opinions about stuff, cuz i am a newb to Mustangs. I come here cuz it's funny. I think it would be great to combine the two, and judging by this site Joe is the man to do it. Do it!

good idea, but those people will eventually find it... best that can be done about that is have some really good mods that are knowledgeable as well as *strict* if you know what i mean, so all the shit can be taken care of - you know?
not that i can contribute that much technically (yet, i hope), but youll have my membership

I want mods that will act when neccesary. Breaking up arguments that have gone too far and whatnot. But not bitchy power whores who look for excuses to ban ppl or get mad when you curse, or give links to boobies!

Sounds good! i cant even remember the last time i went to MF, it seemed like a thousand new guys came in and took over the site in a hurry. i think the tech article section sounds killer. plus who wouldnt like the fact you could be talking about mustangs one minute, then be bullshitting and playing games the next. the member page sounds good too although ive never used car domain before. well sounds like you got some of the details figured out so lets hear the goodies
