A woman from Picton, Ont., is facing charges after allegedly assaulting her boyfriend, then killing and disposing of a puppy they owned together, Ontario Provincial Police say.
On Nov. 18, OPP received information that a puppy — just a few weeks old — had been beaten to death.
"A woman had assaulted her boyfriend earlier in the month. It is alleged that sometime after the assault the woman had killed and disposed of the puppy," OPP said in a media release issued Tuesday.
The puppy had been owned by the couple.
OPP Const. Anthony Mann said attempts to recover the puppy's body have been unsuccessful.
The woman, 23, is facing charges of assault, killing or injuring animals other than cattle and breach of probation.
She was expected to appear in court in Belleville on Tuesday.


Sounds like she has a loose screw BUT if the dog were a calf she would face lesser charges

It's kind of weird. So in Ontario it's OK to assault, kill or injure cattle? Okay there's a difference between slaughtering a cow for beef and killing it for the heck of it. Reminds of dumb brit law:

In York it is legal to murder a Scotsman within the ancient city walls, but only if he is carrying a bow and arrow.

There are a lot of crazy laws still on the books. The bulk of them are no longer recognize but are still there if a citizen decides to invoke it as their defense. These old crazy laws need to be erased from the law immediatily.

This lady is simply insane. Don't tell me she killed the dog to get back at her boyfriend.

If so, then she is a horrible person.

One should Google " silly laws." I did this once and couldn't believe the laws that are still on the books. Somebody needs to go through these and toss them in the garbage.
