do you blame them the way you blame pompey

its been bad management for years, coupled with a greedy council

the club play in a stadium that could fund most clubs, but the way things are theres no income....when the stadium was built the council and the alan higgs trust funded it under the deal that if the club was ever in a position to buy it they could,SISU have tried many times, where the higgs trust are agreeable the council refuse to budge.....its a stadium with a huge casino,a hotel and a very profitable conference center, the way things are the club are relying on dwindling gate receipts and nothing else..plus the fact that the council are charging £1.2 million a year rent

Sorry but it's Coventry's own fault. If you can't afford to build a stadium, don't build one.

as i said, bad management...we had a chairman in bryan richardson....it was his dream.....he sold highfield road to a developement company before the stadium was even started, the club were paying £1 million a year rent for their own stadium, what wasn't known at the time was that the developement company was owned by a certain mr richardson

the club were hugely in debt, dublin was sold for 5 million, bellamy for 5 million, keane for 11 million, the list is endless, yet the debt never went down..it reeks of someone filling their bank account

in all this time its the fans that have suffered

Pompey deserve everything they get as do Coventry.

It's sad for the fans, yes, but it's not the premier league or tv's fault. They both spent beyond their means.

In the end, they'll both come back stronger for it. In a strange way, I think what is happening to Rangers is the best thing for them.

wrong,i doubt we'll ever be back...and i say that from the heart as a lifelong follower of coventry city....too much damage has been done

as for rangers,if they go into liquidation scottish football collapses, all of the television money is for rangers v celtic,if that isn't happening the money goes

Worst case scenario, you start a new club, in 10 years max you're back in league 1 where you were anyway. MK Dons managed it in much less.

And you're dead wrong about Rangers. And shown a bit of an ignorance about the way tv funding works in the SPL.

Thing with MK Dons is that they already had everything setup and the move, away from Wimbledon to a NEW TOWN caused the name change. Wimbledon/MK Dons continued on while AFC Wimbledon was formed from the loyal fans who didn't want the move to be made.

And what happened to wimbledon after the move. Were they saved by some corporation or by working class fans?

light at the end of the tunnel, the club needs the councils permission to buy the higgs trust half of the stadium,,,,the council are now in talks with the club about this...if it happens the club will be entitled to half of every penny the stadium generates..and the extortionate rent will go down

Don't be too grandiose. Motherwell v Hibs already play each other occasionly.
The tv money in scotland is already tiny, relatively non existent. There is no interest in Scottish football outside of Scotland and Northern Ireland, and the tv money represents that:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_Premier_League#Television

In 2009, Sky and ESPN agreed a five-year deal with the SPL where they would pay a total of £65m for the rights to show 30 matches each per season. In November 2011, it was announced that a five-year extension to the contract would take place starting from the 2012-13 season. This would see an increase in the total amount paid from £65m to £80m over the five years.

80 million over 5 years = 16 million a year, 16 million/12 teams = 1.3 million a year to each team on average.

To show the comparison, the premier league's most recent deal was for 1.7 billion over 3 years.

This obviously does not include internet\highlights\overseas revenue
