Great Blue Heron. At least I didn't get a butt shot this time. Not much considering the amount of time I put into it today. Anyone wanna buy my camera gear?

I like 'em as well but I know why. They are very hard to sneak up too and even harder to get a decent shot in the air. The other reason is when they are sitting, especially in trees, they remind me of Alfred Hitchcock.

I know for a fact it isn't a Loon. If it was I would be in heaven right about now. I've been trying to get one for years. I'm searching some bird sites I frequent and hopefully I can pin it down.

I assumed if it was a loon you would know it. I have a friend that has loons on the lake at their cottage. Those buggers you can not get close to. This has some similar marking though doesn't it?
