Well Known
.... to be able to have those you love near you or at least alive.

I have a cousin that isn't quite as fortunate. Over the past 20 years or so this has happened in her life..
- her father passed away due to cancer
- her mother passed away due to cancer
- her oldest brother blew his head off
- her second oldest brother died due to a massive brain aneurysm
- her husband died due to cancer
- she's not been in contact with her last remaining sibling. He's schizophrenic and lost touch with reality.

Rewind about 40 - 50 years.... her family was always the black sheep. It wasn't due to anything they did. It was the bloody Mennonites, her family, my relatives, and the distorted way they handled life.

Fast forward...

Over the last two years she was putting her life back together. She lives in Canada and " met " an American fellow on line. Paul is his name. Since then there has been many visits from each to their respective places. Many of them were extended. They were truly in love and had plans on getting married this month and then come and spend New Years with my sister ( she lives just down the road from me ) . Their plans were for him to move to Canada. He already secured employment due to him being very skilled in his field. The paperwork was filed and he was waiting for approval to be able to work in Canada. ( I won't mention his trade but suffice to say it's something that would be hard for anyone to match )

Yesterday Paul was walking from his house to his shop and he collapsed. They couldn't revive him.

Initially my thoughts were " how much grief can one person endure. " That progressed to " I wonder if he got cold feet, concocted a story and put a friend up to calling her " . I decided to do some investigating and from what I can tell it's fucking true.

I actually feel physically sick for her because she's all alone again. She's 850 miles away and all I want to do is give her a big bear hug.

That is so totally awful for someone to have to bear and then this.

Your cousin must have very big shoulders to carry such a burden.

So sorry, Guyzerr. *hugs*
