1 lb Ground chuck at Jewel/Osco = $3.39

Guess I we won't be eating must beef around this house for some time.

that is awful indeed, but the other day at Walmart they had a two and half pound package of 90 % burger for $6.64 and a pound package of ground pork for less than two bucks, so we made some meatballs out of it and did buy three packages of the beef and two more pork packages...maybe you could check and see if the butchers at your store do anything with short coded beef and either freeze it or use it the same day

Still have about 35 one lb. packs in the freezer as well as a bunch of steaks etc. Been such a hot and rainy summer we have not been grilling as much this year. I like raising my own meat and knowing what they were fed. Prices are up because we burn so much corn in our cars. Price of feed is crazy for the past 18 months or so.
