The parents of a 10-year-old boy who was handcuffed and placed in the back seat of a police cruiser for being too noisy intend to file a complaint against Ottawa police today, alleging that at least one officer went too far in the way he treated their son.

Thomasz and Santana Gurzynski say police drew their firearms before entering their Norberry Crescent apartment and scratched the back of their son, Lucasz, while forcing him to sit down for questioning without an adult present.

Mrs. Gurzynski, 35, believes it was an overreaction by police, who were responding to a neighbour's complaint that the Grade 5 student and five friends were playing video games too loudly and play fighting with wooden sticks.

So where were the parents?

I have an idea... don't want your 10 year old getting into trouble with the law? Then don't leave them alone.

Stupid parents...
Come what kind of bitch calls the cops on a 10 year PLAYING VIDEO GAMES TOO LOUDLY... Talk to the fucking parents first! It's a fucking child who wasn't breaking any laws. The neighbor threw a beer bottle at the window? He sounds like a drunken asshole and police should have questioned the man.

This is ridiculous.

This story just doesn't add up...

It sounds to me like this kid was being a wise ass and mouthing off to the cops... they should have tased his ass :)

Ah, who am I kidding... he was probably acting completely respectful while the cops drew their weapons for no reason, called him a Bitch, slapped him around a bit, threw him against the wall and cuffed him and threw his ass in the cop car...
That sounds so much more believable.

You're missing my point...

Do you honestly believe the spin that the news loves to put out there and think the cops ruffed up some 10 yo kid for no reason?

You know damn well there is more to this story. Cops don't just go around picking on kids.

Cops are completely wrong here. Who cares where the parents are, I was alone at 10, so there's no problem without this kid being left alone.

Cops enter a house over a noise complaint. All they need to do I tell the kid to turn down the volume. If the kid is being disrespectful to the cops, so what? He's 10! And no cop has the right to question a minor without adult supervision. Laws are there for a reason!
