well, a few cops decided it would be nice to throw a woman on the ground, unlawfully detain her, and use a leathal weapon to subdue her.I'm not sure all the facts have been presented, so I'll withhold comment for now.
That doesn't mean anything. That's what I'm saying, the department says that she wasn't "unlawfully detained". There was obviously some wierd shit going on in there. And the Taser is not considered a lethal weapon. It's killed more than it's share, but that was usually due to an unknown heart condition or something.
What ever happened to mace? That shit sucked balls and would stop someone.

A taser can easily kill someone, and they have in the past. They are leathal.
there have been a lot of taser stories lately... I say just make them illegal. Really, that would solve all of these issues.
And mace wouldn't kill you.
Only be really painful.:smiley24:
No, I actually don't even like CNN. I'm just saying that cops have had a looonnnggg history of covering up things other police have done, or wrongly testified in their favor. I know A LOT of cops through my father, and I've seen and heard very very fucked up things. This is what I'm talking about: It's on CNN so it has to be true?
I saw the footage, I saw try to walk out, get stopped, look like she was fighting back, then she got tased...please don't misunderstand what I'm saying; IF she was illegally detained and IF the cop jumped the gun and tased her, then yes, he should be fired and I'm sure the City will be making a huge payment to her in the near future. But if she was the instigator, then the cops were following procedure, and it's the procedure that's wrong, not them.
And I said that tasers have killed people, but they're not considered lethal because 95% of the time, they simply render the subject semi-conscious. That's why the cops carry both on their holsters now. Before, it was shoot the pistol or get pummeled. Now, they can shoot the taser and almost no one dies.

(I can't stand it anymore, it's spelled LETHAL. That is all. You're the victim of my perfectionism.)
Agree'd.
Sidenote: I don't like the the fact that you don't know if the person that is going to be tased has a condition of some sort. I know our police officers have a very difficult job and are constantly in harms way, but well I just don't know - there obviously isn't an easy answer. Procedure does need to be looked at though and they stated that is what they are going to be doing.
