Of course they're good, they're one of the greatest bands to ever live. You can not like them or their music, that's fine and dandy (you are missing out due to shitty taste however) but it's impossible to say that they're not good. That's like saying old Metallica isn't good, it's just stupid.

"Good" as in the band members actually know how to play their instruments? Yes. "Good" in any other way? No.

Nirvana is composed of a tone-deaf moron who can barely pronounce his words correctly and not much else. I mean it's ok to listen to maybe for ten minutes, but tone-deaf people hurt my ears very badly since I'm musically adept. And Metallica's only good band member was their very first bass player who actually graduated a musical university and knew how to read notes.

So in terms of knowing how to play music, Metallica is completely inept as opposed to Pink Floyd who know exactly what they are doing.
