I'll reward the poster that gives me the best recipe for Vegan brownies. So it can't have eggs or animal butter! It's gotta be a sure fire recipe, one that doesn't become greasy or call for Ener-G egg replacement.

5,000 Tokenz for the best recipe
10,000 if you tried it and it came out fluffy like a normal brownie!

Sometimes I don't know how we think alike:24:

I was going to ask why you didn't use butter than I had to re read the thread.

Crap, with the way that think might taste, you might be better of just smoking it.

I have a killer brownie recipe but unfortunately it uses butter and eggs.

Someone at work doesn't eat eggs and someone else doesn't do gluten. The flour sub makes it a touch more crumbly but the egg substitute was tough. I've yet to try a flax seed based substitute for that which I hear is the best thing to use in place of eggs.

Never had to replace the butter though for a non animal one.

Ingredients:Serves: 12-16

Yield: 1 pan

2 cups flour
1 cup water
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup nuts (optional)
1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:
Prep Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 45 mins
1 Cook water and 1/2 cup of the flour over low heat, stirring constantly, until it reaches the consistency of a gluey paste (yum).
2 Remove from heat and let cool completely.
3 Mix sugar, salt, vanilla, cocoa powder and vegetable oil, and then add the flour-water mixture.
4 Mix well.
5 Add the remaining 1 1/2 cups of flour, plus the baking powder and nuts/chocolate chips.
6 Spread mixture into a greased 11x7-inch pan.
7 Bake at 350ºF for 25 minutes, or until knife inserted into center of pan comes out clean.

This recipe is from food.com, I take no credit.
