So I just found this out today, and it kinda really pisses me off... And it makes me really want to just Throttle my Boss.

I work at a c-store ( one of my jobs) and most my shifts are the closing shift, we close at eleven pm. So anyway,

The other night girl, last week forgot to lock the door when she left, and about 20 min after she left, or KK delivery guy showed up and opened the door setting off the alarm, well since no one was there he just left the cart, and left. Cops show up, and called the Manager. She shows up, checks the store. Tells the cops that she is not sure what happened but it was very unusual... So what does she do.. Locks the Store and go home

:mad See this pisses me off.. Something could have happened or been wrong which is why the door was left unlocked. The manager did not even have the common sense OR the common decency to call and see or make sure that the girl was home safe. Helloooooo

The store is a safe store.. But it still sits across from a tavern on the highway.. Its IIpm at night, completly dark.. No other open businesses around ( cept maybe the tavern on the weekends)

I thought it was Completly stupid for her to just Assume that That the girl had just forgotten to lock the door. She should have called her and made sure everything was ok. Anything could have happened. I think it was just wrong and rude of her not to check. and it pisses me off. The only reason someone finally knew she was home and ok, is because one of the other girls in the morning threw a fit and made the Asst, manager call.. Like she said, I dont care if you wake her up and Piss her off, I wanna know she is ok. Which Is how it should have been to start with.

Ummm, if the alarm was set then that would give me a pretty good indication that the girl just forgot to lock the door :confused. But yeah, I would think the manager should check with who closed regardless of the circumstances.

Well yeah.. The alarm was set, But you set the alarm before you go outside.. So anything still could have happened? It just.. it annoys me, something could have happened and no one would have known until she did not show up to work the next night. Just because you set the alarm does not gurantee you made it to your car safe. ..

I just think as you said regardless, The manager still should have checked to make sure.

I hear ya Silent what if someone would have grabbed her outside of the door? How long would she have been gone before someone noticed she was missing? If that was my kid and she really was taken worse case scenerio, I would have been pissed nobody called to check

You know what happens when you ASSUME something right? Like when your Boss just assumed that everything was alright before checking into things? When you assume, you make an ass out of U and ME!
So thats what I was told one day anyways

THe couple places I worked where I closed you had to set the alarm in the back, then once you went outside you activated it with a master key. Otherwise you would trip it on the way out.
