I freaking love Come Dine With Me. I don't know what it is because I usually don't watch much TV, particularly not reality TV, but there's something about watching four middle class people try and do something new with asparagus each week that just tickles me :p

Any other fans?

I have a huge problem with snakes, I could bear it being around her neck but when it got on the table, I would have been out the fucking door :p

Personally, I don't care about snakes one way or the other. I've held them and find them interesting enough but I wouldn't own one.

I just cannot understand why you would bring a snake onto a table with food! Firstly, people may not like them (and if I remember this show rightly, she just put it on her neck and didn't bother asking if they were all right with it) but also, snakes often carry salmonella and so people are told to practice good hygiene around them.

Trying to remember all the other memorable episodes

I love how there's almost always someone who does asparagus. That's something that sticks out to me, somebody always seems to do asparagus, particularly wrapped in parma ham.

They also always seem to think they are the first person EVER to do it that way.

I love when no one can pronounce dauphinoise potatoes! Come on, at least one person does it every single week on the show!

Lol! :24: it's definitely better when people get things wrong. I love the ones who really think they're the shit, and then everyone scores them quite low.

I know they don't seem to find out during the show, but it must suck to watch it back and seeing everyone making fun of your awful pudding :p

Oh god, there was one... I can't remember where, but this lady served up the food and it was these massive portions, on huge plates, and she'd basically just slopped it all on. Normally presentation is such a big thing in that show, but it was just a big mess of potatoes and veg and meat and stuff, on these awful patterned plates... I've got to see if I can find a clip of it :p

On mumsnet, there is a woman who went on it (she was on the Birmingham one with the Science guy who made ice cream at the table). She was really angry becuse the editing made her look like a bore and her look like a really snobby person.

Did you see the one where the guy tries to win the money for a cancer charity because his sister was ill with cancer? He didn't win but the winner gave him £100 then at the end of the show, it said that since filming he discovered he had cancer and had died :( It always makes me so sad seeing it.

I do wonder how much they edit it to make people look awful. And it's a shame cos you'd have no idea until it was broadcast, how they were going to present you.

I haven't seen the cancer one, that sounds awful :( I need to start watching them in order haha, I've been skipping about watching them here and there.

She was saying that they ask you tons of leading questions so they can get the soundbites which they can twist. But I watched the show and her night did seem really boring (she had a wine expert come in and talk about wine and everyone was really subdued compared with the other nights) and to be honest, they can only make you say so much - I don't believe they could twist every single little thing and force her to say things she didn't want to.

The cancer one is sad. It was a few years back and was one of the 5 night ones (not the 1 hour ones with 4 guests) and you didn't find out what happened to him until the end of the final night :(

I love it when self-titled "foodies" cook awful food on their evening and come in last place - especially if they have spent the entire time slagging off everyone else's cooking.

I really think it's just-desserts.

Haha yeah the ones who spend the whole time making fun of everyone else's food are pretty funny, especially when no one rates what they've made!

I was watching some on youtube last night, I think it was Hull, and this guy thought he was amazing. Slagged everyone else off to the cameras, rated them all down.... and came in second to last himself. Knob.

Hahahahaha!

I also love it when really sexist, mysoginistic men slag off the female contests and say all women are shit cooks - then cook rubbish food and end up beaten by several women :D
