My team is Auburn and this football season has been a disaster from a fan's perspective.

I was thinking about rivalries. We have ours like every team. Our traditional rivals have always been Alabama, Georgia, Florida, & Tennessee within the conference. Georgia was our traditional friendly rival because we shared so much in common. It became less friendly after "The Blackout game". The rivalry with Alabama I can honestly say I never remember it being friendly. It has gotten worse recently with actual real damage being done on Auburn's campus by psychotic Bama fan. We are entering what has been referred to as "Amen Corner" when we finish our season with Georgia and Alabama. It will not be pretty but will mercifully end our season.

College sports isn't nearly as big around here as it is in the South apparently.

Out of New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine and New Hampshire, New Hampshire probably has the best football program around. What's that tell you?:24:

Sorry, forgot about Connecticut:D

Nittany Lions are still pretty big in PA, Terps are so so, the Hokies and Mountaineers had a decent following. Also consider the fact that you have a bunch of schools up North keep switching conferences looking for money.

Honestly, if you didn't graduate from the college your following in football, could never understand the insane loyalty some people show to college football.

No doubt, Fred, it's a tough year to be an Auburn fan. For once, it's not that hard to be a Georgia fan this year...but even if it IS hard, I'm still a fan. I can't stand fair-weather fans!!!

The Auburn/Georgia rivalry was particularly ugly in 2010, IMO That was a brutal game. And I tell ya what, as bad as Auburn is looking this year, my boys better not get too cocky and fuck it up (like they were doing in the 1st quarter of this game against Ole Miss).

Our traditional rivals are Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia Tech. We've already beat Florida (which nobody thought we would do) and Tennessee this year...just Auburn and Georgia Tech to go. I'm going to try to make it to the game against Georgia Tech.

It's easier for me to follow Georgia than it is to follow Valdosta State. Having said that...me not graduating from UGA is only b/c I got rejected by their School of Law, LOL

rivalries should be ugly

so to speak

that is what makes them what they are

IMO

I don't know...I mean, there's a difference in a good old game where everybody is pumped up like last week's Georgia/Florida match up (although some of our guys needed to check their fucking tempers BIG TIME) and our 2010 match up w/ Auburn when Fairley appeared to be intentionally trying to injure some of our guys.

I love to see 2 teams go at it all pumped up, though...it's awesome.

Auburn is and always will be Alabamas biggest rivalry but the Bama/LSU game has become much more of a physical game and a game of importance with regards to SEC west title implications. My boys were damn lucky to get a win tonight, LSU outplayed us.

Lester crapped in his hat tonight. Their team outplayed your team but he kept making assinine decisions.

Every once and a while a Boston College team breaks through the top 15....but sadly my neck of the woods (New England) we are not a college football hotbed.

I'm gonna back-up on my original statement. They outplayed us in the second half but we still earned the win. Our 3 TDs came on long drives, we didn't benefit from any turnovers, and the defense stiffened when they had to. It was ugly, but sometimes it is. Lets not forget LSU had a bye week last Sat while we had to deal with a top 15 Miss St team.
