I didn't expect the rematch. Hope we do more with it this time.

I hope so, too...even though my neighbor, a die-hard Bama fan, was talking shit today and REALLY made me want to root for LSU instead, LMFAO But I have an agreement w/ one of my closest male friends and, as long as Bama and Georgia aren't playing each other, we agree to root for the other's team.

I don't think OSU got screwed. Their resume was about as good as ours but our loss was much easier to swallow. Most sports reporters seem to agree the 2 best teams will play.

I agree on Boise. They should be playing a better bowl than what they got.

I will pro-actively post this before someone mentions playoffs.

Their resume was better than yours... more difficult schedule, more quality wins, and they were #2 in the computer polls.

The BCS is a fucking cartel and needs to go the fuck away.

OSU got fucked and Kansas State did too to a lesser degree.

K-State got the pseudo BCS bowl... which will become a BCS bowl if the BCS gets extended. Boise goes to the Las Vegas bowl for the second time in as many years, despite finishing in the top 10 of the BCS both years. I think this is the 3rd or 4th time that they've finished in the top 10 but been passed over for a bowl. I still can't figure out how TCU didn't move up at all in the final BCS poll either... if they had gotten into the Top 16, they would have gotten an auto-bid.

If Barkley sticks around for his senior year, I fully expect USC to be playing for the National Championship again next year. Then maybe the arrogant as fuck (some exceptions apply, like Maulds and Fred) SEC fans will realize that the college football world does not, in fact, revolve around them. I swear, some of them act like their teams could win the Super Bowl if they were in the NFL... delusional.

No shit Nic. I will watch games that the Big 12 and former Big 12 (Nebraska) play in and that's about it...

MWC
Rest of the non-AQs
Pac-12
Big-12
Big Least
ACC
B1G
SEC

That's the priority I give to watching CFB games... which sucks, because there are times on Saturdays when there are 8 games on, and 7 of them are either SEC or B1G.

I think having LSU v. Alabama as the BCSNC game basically tells the rest of the country the SEC is better than any other conference which I don't think is a fair statement. SEC as a conference might have a greater percentage of rankable teams year in and year out but that does not mean they will necessarily match up well with the top teams from other conferences.

The final BCS Standings

ACC - 2
B1G - 5
Big 12 - 5
Big Least - 1
Pac-12 - 2
SEC - 6
MWC - 2
C-USA - 2

So while the SEC has 6, the B1G and Big-12 both have 5. The last few years have been much the same... so while the SEC has often finished with more teams in the Top-25, the other conferences aren't too terribly far behind. Part of that is probably due to the fact that the SEC is perceived as being better than everyone. I expect the Pac-12 to experience a resurgence in the next few seasons with USC returning to their former heights, Oregon and Stanford staying up towards the top, and a few other programs looking like they're on an upswing. The ACC will be better with the additions they're making, the MWC/C-USA alliance (or whatever form it takes, as part of me thinks we're going to see a conference split again) will have a number of top teams, the Big-12 is making up for the losses of A&M, Colorado, Missouri, and Nebraska with TCU, Louisville (most likely), and WVU... with WVU and TCU both ranked this year... Baylor is on an upswing, OSU will probably stay successful, and Texas has nowhere to go but back up again. The B1G has gotten better with the addition of Nebraska, and the Big Least is most likely going away.

I just don't think that the SEC is really as good as people like to think... they're good, but a lot of it is hype as well. The top teams tend to fill their OOC schedules with an FCS team and two bottom of the barrel non-AQ programs in order to get three automatic wins and pad the win column. It'd just be nice if programs were ranked based on their merits, and not the hype that their conference receives. But, as long as ESPN is basically in charge of college football, I don't think things are going to change.

I'm boycotting the BCS games this year.

I have to laugh...

http://www.offtopicz.net/showthread.php?76597-T-Minus-67-days

As I've said, it's all about money. Here, the local university (Wake Forest) has been getting great press for making a bowl game with a 6-6 record.

Long story short? You have the alumni following that spends money and at 6-6 you get to go to a bowl game? BFD!

My alma mater has been on the short end of stick more than a couple of times when it comes to a "national championship", so it comes as no surprise that someone else it getting ****** yet again to play for the number 1 spot.

Why is it that you have to laugh? I was excited at the beginning of the season; but the BCS is so fucking corrupt that I can't bring myself to watch any of the games associated with it. TCU got fucked, Boise got fucked far worse than TCU did, OSU got fucked worse than the two of them combined.

I get to spend the next few weeks following what comes out of Fresno to see who our next coach is going to be. I'll watch the non-AQs and Pac-12 bowl games over any others, and then focus on recruiting and signing day.
