ok folks need some opinions. i have to decide whether or not to have the baby circumsied. when i had my last son, i didnt have any one to ask so hunter was not (apparently neither was my dad, but like i told my mom thats TMI :24

i have asked a few guy friends who have sons, and one in particular is very against doing it, even though he had it done to his son. from what i have read, the US is one of the only countries that rountinely have it done to newborns. apparently now its even considered a "cosmetic" surgery.

so discuss the pro's and con's!

I think it is a decision that is up to the parents because of the factors associated with yeah or nay. We were told cleanliness was an issue with uncircumcised boys. Of course that was 23 years ago and the advice changes yearly. I think where you live makes a difference too. Here an uncircumcised is out of the norm. We went with circumcised so son looked like dad.

I ain't but it is no big deal either way. As far as cleanliness, you just need to be aware of washing with the foreskin pulled back and teach him as he gets older to do the same.

again my oldest is not, so growing up it was alot of teaching him how to clean it properly. he had no issues what so ever. not sure how he feels about it now, considering he is in high school, older, etc.

I used to work for a guy who said. He was having sex with his wife and tore his foreskin. So he had it circumcised in his 30's. That story stuck with me. Ouch!!!

Vote for the procedure. At a young age, with proper medical attention, they will never knew it happened, added the fact that you don't have to worry about infection due to a lack of cleaning.

As far as pleasure, I'm cut and I have absolutely no complaints lol

There is supposed to be a band of nerves that sometimes gets removed while being cut.
So its not going to be the same for everyone.
I dont know if its luck of draw of the Dr or the person as to whether it is removed while being cut.

I don't have kids of my own, obviously, but if I did I would choose to have my son circumcised at birth. I've never been w/ an uncircumcised man, so I can't really offer an opinion on that. :dunno
