Ok, so I am circumcized and I did it to my son. I don't regret it one bit.

Tim and I haven't talked about it, but I'm sure that he would agree with me in saying that we are going to do it. Yeah, it's a lot of pain, and it'll suck to see my little boy cry...but he'll forget about it.

If everybody didn't want to cause pain to their baby then you shouldn't bother bringing them to the doctor the first couple months of their life. Don't you think it's also painful with all the shots that they need? Or blood taken out of them??

Besides, I'm sure he'll thank me when he gets older.

well i'll be taking my baby to the doctors to be jabbed with needles...which still causes the baby pain...

And so have I... yep it causes pain, but its for a good reason.

so you could some people could say that getting circumsized, even though it's painful could be for a good reason....and getting it at such a young age where the baby wouldn't remember it happening, he will heal a lot quicker. If he should decide that he wants to get circumsized at an adult age, it will be a slow and more painful recovery for him.

I don't think there is a wrong or right choice here. It isn't a moral issue unless one is Jewish. It's a personal preference made with the best of intentions by parents in regards to their child no matter which way is chosen.

We had the longest thread about this ever on PH, lol. Well, in Spain is not a tradition like in the US, and since nobody has convinced me yet, I won't do it to my kids.

and that's where I think it's crazy. My aunt is jewish and when it came time to my cousin being circumsized, it was tradition to have it in the home. But my uncle put his foot down and said that it would be in a hospital. Yeah I wouldn't want everyone to be gathering around my son watching part of his penis being cut off.

The way I see it, if our boys were better off without it, evolution would have removed it for us.

Once my son is old enough to decide for himself if he wants to remove part of his penis, then he is welcome to do it... I am not about to force my choice onto him in an irreparable way.

My mother always said that I should take them to church, that they should have something to believe in, etc. Well right after I had my son is when all that crap was on the news about preists. So, they can decide for themselves what they want to believe in. I dont go to church, or make them go. Hopefully they will thank me for my decisions when they get older.

yeah i was forced to go to church when I was younger...and as I got older I made my own decisions about religion and what I wanted to believe in. Needless to say I don't go right now...don't know how I will feel in the future about it though...but I know I would make my kids go, or shove religion down their throats.

We are not Christian, so we don't feel compelled to take him to church etc... when he is older we plan to give him information about many religions, and he can choose his own path from there

My son is, and I would do it again. Ive never heard of any man saying that they are traumatized for life because they had it done and the pain scarred them forever. Think of the pain they will have to go though when they are older if they have it done. There have been so many debates about this back and forth over the years its amazing but its just cleaner IMO.

Maybe its just the penises you were looking at that were gross. I dont think their woman would be complaining any. But hey, everyones got their own opinions. I would just spare my son from any harm thats unnecessary... but thats just me.
