Children & The Naked Body.

Some of you believe that a child viewing a naked body will cause mental problem for the child. I disagree with that and believe that a naked body wouldn't effect a child's mentality at all.

Now there is an exception to this, and that's sexual nakedness. I.E. touching yourself while naked, or being intimate with another person while naked. These acts I believe should be kept away from young children. But still, I doubt they'd cause the child mental problems.

Well.. I meant- as a teacher-- I dont think it would be OK for one of my students to see me naked... If its the kids parents its one thing.. if its me, then thats a whole 'nother

i agree with jersey, and i also wouldn't want my son to see me running around naked or tim for that matter when he's much older.

I think viewing nakedness as an art would be okay. If I would take my son to an art museum and there were naked men and women as statues and paintings or whatever, that would be okay by me

ok.. I see what you mean. Yet the kids wont see anything different. you and the kids mother are both females who (I assume) share the same body parts. Now if a child wasn't raise in a society where the naked body is taboo, would that child be harmed by seeing either you or their mother naked?

Why wouldn't you want your son to see you naked? What is it that makes such an idea taboo in your mind?

i've seen my mom naked, like if she was jumping out of the shower and getting clothes on. It had no effect on me b/c I'm a woman also. I've never seen my dad naked, I think that would have scarred me.

Being ashamed of nudity or thinking anything is wrong with it is a learned behavior. It's not something inherent in children. But since we live in a society where being naked is considered immoral, the children must be taught when it is and isn't ok to be naked. A child is completely at home being naked with his mother/father. I mean should a mother keep her breasts covered so the child can't see them when feeding? That's just silly.

I think in general that society is too uptight with nudity and it's attitude that creates the problems we live with...

There are many nudist colonies where the children are just as normal and healthy as anyone else..... because it IS natural.

But I agree that sexuality should be kept in the bedroom away from the children, but that's a completely different topic altogether.

I feel as though nakedness is something private... and not for everyone to see my nude body.. I wouldnt just strip down for anyone.. its kinda sacred (or umm something like that).

Depends on the age. Depend on whose bodies they are seeing naked and the context in which they are seeing naked bodies.

Generally speaking (outside nudist colonies) people don't normally just walk around the house naked .. they are usually naked when a sexual act or inuendo is involved. Children do not need to have any part of that imo.

I'll be honest with you .. my son is 11 and I don't go in the bathroom with him anymore .. he now bathes himself. I don't think it's right for me to be in there with him while he is unclothed. If I were his dad, I wouldn' tfeel that way.

I also don't want anyone else doing it either. If I found it alright for myself to prance around naked in front of my own child .. I probably wouldn't mind it happening at his friends house either and his mom doing it .. and I'm sorry .. I don't care where you are from or how you were raised .. that's just not right.

In a society where nudity is more accepted it wouldnt be that big a deal. It all depends on society and more importantly what the child is taught to be right. Myself i wouldnt want to be nude around my children, but thats because i was brought up that way. But then again , i guess it all boils down to different strokes for different folks.
