Chicken & Waffles

New restaurant in my little town. Locally owned and operated. Food was really good.

I don't get the chicken and waffles craze...but perhaps that's b/c I'm not a waffle fan. :dunno

These were like Belgian Waffles. And the fried chicken was done just like it has been done for decades.

I am used to the chicken being cooked and picked down then simmered in the gravy and slathered generously over the waffles and mashed taters.

No gravy & taters. Just chicken & waffles with syrup.

I used to think the sound of chicken and waffles was just nasty....then I tried it. It really is a yummy combination!

I don't get the chicken and waffles thing either....Waffles are a sweet thing and chicken not so much.....I cant imagine the flavors would gel well. In saying that Ive never tried it so i guess its an experience I have yet to master

It goes amazingly well together. The sweet & savory offset each other.

We have this place called Mayes Counter here. They makes some of the best I have ever had.
