I support gay marriage, but I'm also a former Chick-fil-a employee. Working for Chick-fil-a, I know that the company is run on good Christian values (hence why they will NEVER be open on a Sunday as long as the chain stays in the Cathy family...and it's got at least 2 more generations to go through, if not 3 by now)...and they are entitled to their opinions. Do I agree w/ the opinion??? HELL NO!!! But as long as he's not saying "hey, if you're a homosexual you're not allowed to eat at my restaurant" I don't think he's doing anything wrong.
I'm also not a fan of the protest that is supposed to be staged Thursday called "Kiss Mor Chiks" (cute name, though). I just think it's going to draw the wrong kind of attention to the cause. You don't try to show conservative elderly Christian people that homosexuality is okay by having a makeout session in front of them.
Then again, I'm not a fan of PDAs anyway...straight OR gay.
That sounds stupid. Working at chick fil a is a job. The people who work there are regular people. Im sure many of them dont care about homosexuals kissing. At all. Its also dumb on their part because there are many hate groups for homosexuals. Now instead of seeking out homosexuals, they are all going to nicely gather in a spot. Protesting in general is stupid. Stand in the sun, hold up your signs. I will laugh at you while I sit in the AC.
I get what they are TRYING to do...but a much more successful way to protest would be to take their children and families in and show that they are normal families just like everybody else. I worked at Chick-fil-a throughout college and loved working there. I can't even think of a single time where I even had the conscious thought of "oh, look, a gay couple" while working there. :dunno
This is the latest Facebook driven campaign/counter-campaign. A few months ago it was all about Kony. Can't help wondering if there was any long-term [or even short-term] effect of the Facebook Warriors' collective moral outrage.
Kyle B said:I had never even heard of this restaurant before this controversy.
agreed, even i know of itIt has been an effective ad campaign for a long time.
