Censoring Mark Twain's 'n-words' is unacceptable

tell me something......theres alot of footage about ww11.....should the swastika and hitler salute be deleted from them because its deemed offensive these days?
absolutely not.

i would be terribly offended if i had to watch films of the victims of the camps that didn't include hitler and the swastika.

I think censoring classic books is ridiculous. Having the N word shows how the people of the day spoke, felt, etc. By changing it you are not being true to what Mr. Twain wrote.

Besides I think anything that sparks honest talk among people, for instance how we feel about the N word, is a key to facing and addressing our prejudices. Shoving uncomfortable things in the closet and pretending they are not there is EXACTLY how prejudice flouishes. IMHO

I can hardly believe that there are people out there who actually think that keeping such history hidden from our children would be a positive thing...if anything I would think that it only insults their intelligence.
