Figured I'd post some car info. Might help if anyone is thinking of getting any of these. Lots of reading. No cliff notes.

2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4

Introduction

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Neon is Dodge’s compact sedan that debuted in January 1994 and was praised for its cheeky styling, strong engines, sporty handling, and value for the money. The Neon was redesigned for 2001 with a new look. The powerful SRT-4 was added for 2003 and is the second fastest car in the Dodge lineup—only the Viper is faster.
New for 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Neon SXT offer a new SRT Design Package with styling cues from the SRT-4 that includes a power bulge hood, new fog lights with unique front fascia, dual exhaust, and a spoiler. The Kicker audio package is now offered for SXT with a 208-watt input, sub woofer, dedicated amplifier assembly, and eight speakers that is tuned for the Neon. Orange Blast Pearl Coat is added for SRT-4 and SXT, and Mineral Gray is added for SXT.

This small sedan handles securely, brakes well, and has a relatively roomy interior. But the ride is stiff and uncomfortable and the cabin noisy. The four-speed automatic is mediocre.

2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged Coupe

Introduction

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Cobalt is Chevrolet’s new compact sedan and coupe that debuts for 2005 and will replace the Cavalier in the lineup. The Cobalt is designed to compete with the leaders in the compact segment with a high level of standard equipment and a driving experience with a high level of refinement, quality, and performance.
New for 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The all-new Cobalt is offered as a sedan or coupe in base and LS trim levels, as an LT sedan, and as an SS Supercharged Coupe. Base, LS, and LT trims are powered by a 145-horsepower Ecotec 2.2-liter engine with a standard Getrag 5-speed manual transmission or optional 4-speed automatic (standard LT). The SS Supercharged Coupe is powered by a 205-horsepower 2.0-liter supercharged Ecotec engine with a 5-speed manual, sport-tuned suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, ABS, and 18-inch wheels. Standard equipment on all trims includes air conditioning, rear defogger, an AM/FM/CD audio system and driver information center.

The Cobalt is the successor to the aged Cavalier. The 2.2-liter four-cylinder is spirited by noisy and not fuel efficient. A more powerful 2.4-liter and a supercharged 2.0-liter will be offered. ABS and traction control are available on uplevel trim lines. We recommend purchasing the optional curtain air bags.

2005 Honda Civic Si

Introduction

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Civic is Honda’s compact car, offered in sedan, coupe, and hatchback versions. First introduced as a small, inexpensive hatchback in 1972, the Civic has increased in size while continuing to offer excellent fuel economy. The 7th generation Civic arrived as a 2001 model and the Civic Si returned for 2002. The Civic Hybrid was added as a 2003 model and features gas-electric hybrid technology.
Civic Hybrid Information.
New for 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Special Edition package for EX coupe and sedan features upgraded audio system with MP3 capable in-dash 6-disc CD changer and an auxiliary jack for use of portable music devices and satellite radio receivers. The Special Edition also includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a rear wing spoiler, unique alloy wheels, and special SE badging. Tango Red Pearl replaces Rallye Red for the Civic coupe.

One of the best small sedans, the Civic handles well and gets good fuel economy, though its ride is a bit nervous. The interior is well finished, and controls are excellent. The sporty Si version doesn't feel very sporty. The gasoline/electric Hybrid averaged 36 mpg overall in CR tests. A redesign arrives in the fall.

2005 Subaru Impreza WRX

Introduction

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before this car's introduction in 1993, the company that introduced all-wheel-drive passenger cars to America had always seemed to follow the beat of a different drummer, and that was reflected in this car's predecessors. While the Impreza sedan's interior and exterior styling were always very much in the mainstream, the Impreza is the only car in its class with standard full-time all-wheel drive. In 1998 Subaru introduced the 2.5 RS, the first Impreza to show a link to Subaru's rally heritage. The 2002 model took the next step with the introduction of the WRX. Also in 2002, the Impreza 2-door was discontinued and Impreza was only offered as a 4-door sedan or station wagon. The WRX STi was added for 2004.
New for 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The 2.5 RS Sport Package is added for 2005, with body-color ground effects; aluminum alloy pedal covers on five-speed manual transmission models; a 140-watt stereo with 6-disc in-dash CD changer; body-color mirrors; performance design front seats; a MOMO leather-wrapped steering wheel; sport design instrumentation and STi-type fog light insert covers. The WRX receives new 10-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels and the STi receives new helical limited slip front differential, body-color rear wheel arch protectors, and new 17-inch gold or silver painted BBS aluminum alloy wheels.

The small Impreza delivers good handling and a quiet, comfortable ride. The line includes an Outback Sport, a small wagon, and the sporty WRX, available as sedan or wagon as well as in 300-hp STi trim. A score of Good in an IIHS offset-crash test is a plus.
