care homes - are they as bad as everyone is saying ?

care homes

its not acceptable and change is dyer,
the Joe will do his bit, i am a tr-yer.
my nan was neglected,
and it will always be to late to get this corrected.
left to lye and rot in a bed and always rested,
if you treated a animal like this, the law is tested.
thirsty and for water she was gasping,
my nan was not able to speak, that ruled out asking.
yes it was all smiles from the staff,
but i new there was more beneath the fake laugh.
low paid and with a mountain of work is no excuse,
but correcting this just might cut out the abuse.
this country needs to respect and love the older generation,
because with out them, our future has no creation.

(the joe nos they are as bad as everyone is saying and i just hope things change, but i have a feeling they wont and thats shame on everyone )

No, this poem shows the EXTREME end of the worst possible scenario. It's pretty hard to run a bad home. I have worked in many (group homes, nursing homes) and the state is all over anything that could even come CLOSE to this.
I do agree that we need to respect and love elders. No argument there!
