Can someone make it back?

I was raised in Mexico city and as you all may know catholicism is the predominant faith down there.

Naturally, I was raised as a catholic child, I went to church every Sunday morning, I was baptized, I had my first communion, and a confimration shortly there after. I attended Sunday school and my mom signed me up for just about any and all church groups and activities.

somewhere down the road I seem to have lost my faith... I mean I know that there is a higher power somewhere above us, but I have a hard time believing that at times. And not just because of my recent issues but this has always been the case.

I need guidance and help in getting back my faith. Any websites, books or places that anyone know that can help me on this?

I cant bring myself to read the bible just yet and while the thought of looking for a pastor to talk with has crossed my mind, I'd like to see what else is out there as far as information readily available.

God will test you. He will never turn his back on a sheep that has gone astray. remember that. also, God will NEVER put anything on your shoulders that is too heavy for you to carry as long as you have Him in your heart. God doesnt expect everyone to be perfect... last time i checked, jesus was the only one who could walk on water.

God speaks to us through His Word (the Bible), Circumstances, Dreams, other Believers, Prayer, etc.

I'm not one for legalistic ritual. You know ... Jesus's essense/character taught us that it is all about relationship. God wants that relationship with you ... just reach out to Him ... truly seek Him ... He will guide your paths and free you from what burdens you.

If you would like specific prayer, I'd be happy to pray for or with you.

I was always told that the tie is always there, its only a matter of simply making the effort and taking that first step... I guess I should simply gather my thoughts and figure out when it is that I am ready to take that first step.

Youve brought some reassurance to me on this, this is exactly the answer I was expecting to hear, I just needed to be sure I wasnt the only one that sawe it that way.

To help you get back in God's Word I'd like to suggest a book called, "Experiencing God". BMI Resource Library

It is a workbook of sorts that will help to gently get you back on your walk with the Lord. May he give you rest and peace Fuzz.
