Never been :) my parents had no interest, and I've never been with anyone that had a desire to.

Plus, not a huge degree of wilderness where I live :p

I like the heated groundsheet....it does get pretty cold/damp sometimes.

That storm sounds awful...how'd you keep the tent up?

It was a huge tent that can accommodate about 6-8 people. We spread out to use our weight to hold it down on it's side esp near the stakes. Some of the braver guys went out to make sure all of the stakes were still intact. It was a big relief after the storm & we survived :tooth

Just give me a tent, a sleeping bag, a good outdoor knife for getting branches and shit, and a cooler. I don't need all that high tech shit for camping. That's for pussies, same with RV camping. (no offense to anyone)

you pussy,..i sleep on a rock in the open with my nuts hanging out so i can attract and eat beaver :tooth

That's cool as hell (specifically the glow crap...that's fucking awesome) but I'm w/ the ones who said just give them the basics and they're good. As connected as I stay when I'm at home, I like being out at a campsite w/o much contact w/ the outside world. I just started camping again last year and everytime I went it was in teh mountains where I didn't have any cellphone reception. It was awesome. Of course, the awesome company didn't hurt. ;) Funny how something as simple as using a cereal box for target practice for a slingshot can amuse a group for hours. :24:
