My directing teacher had to leave town suddenly so I had a sub today in the class. This normally no big deal but I had an observation set up for today. So I get the class into the room and have a talk with them about what I expect them to do and how they behave. I told them that there would be a time to talk and a time to be quiet. The sub then steps in and repeats what I just said. That threw me off a little but I went along with. My supervisor came in and I started my lesson. It was a lot of group work and I had put them in the groups. One group finished quicker than the others and were talking. I didn't mind too much because all the other groups were talking and they weren't being any louder than anyone else. There was some laughter but nothing real bad. Well, the sub went up to them and told them that they should be working and to stay quiet. I didn't know how to respond. I have had control over the class for weeks now and my directing teacher always ask if she can handle something before she actually does it. The students weren't misbehaving (in fact, the "bad" child of the class was being quite good). The students looked at me confused and I told them to not worry about it. They felt like they were wrongly accused and I felt that she tried to take control of part of the class during my observation. She also jumped in during my social studies lesson and asked me how I stayed so thin.

I get to deal with this woman for at least two more day. I don't know if I can handle her interrupting any more. She's good friends with my directing teacher so I really don't know if I should say anything to her. It's just annoying and rude to me.

Maybe you should pull her aside and talk to her. If you have to deal with her for a few more days, then it will only get worse unless you do something about it.

If she does it again tomorrow, I'll talk to her. And I have a feeling she will because I'll be using the SMARTBoard, which I'm pretty sure she's never used.

I LOVE them. We had them for the education department and did all of presentations on them. I was disappointed when I left for my internship because I thought I wouldn't get to use them again but the school I'm at has about 10 of them.

There's a couple of different forms but it's basically an interactive computer screen. The ones we have at the elementary school is a laptop hooked to a projector which is then hooked to a special board. You can move stuff around, type, draw, do anything you want just like a computer, only bigger.

I would just tell the kids that all teachers are different and that this will be over in a couple days and to just hang tight. tell them you will bring them candy if they can just make it thru a couple days.

She was much better today. She only interrupted to ask if she could borrow a book I had shared with the class. One more day with her and then I get a different sub.
