People don't wash their hands after wiping their ass with their hands apparently

I read another article about this somewhere and it was a bit more in-depth. On of the things I found interesting was that the further north they went the worse it got with the males. I've never been to your rock and don't know your geography / population etc but am curious why that would be.

It's because the more Northern you get, the harder the male (in manliness terms) and the more manly men don't have as much care for hygiene as the southerners.

Well providing there's an abundance of soap and water it sounds like a place that I'd like to visit........ with my wife.

I found this comment to the article of interest:

On the more serious side, If you are Mr. and Mrs clean all the time how in earth do you think your immune system is able to produce the antigens necessary to produce an antibody response. The only response will be to the alcohols, aldehydes and acids used to kill the bacteria. That is why hospitals are having to put up with opportunist infections because of the over use of these chemicals and the ability of the bacteria to build up a tolerance to the solvents. The solvents alone will alter the DNA of the bacteria the same way they mutate the DNA of humans and over time this inhibits the dehydrogenase enzymes responsible for detoxifying these solvents. This creates another problem the solvents themselves are probably more toxic than the bacteria if the compounds are not endogenously detoxified in the liver. I have to question if it is the actual bacteria infections that killed all those people or the solvents used to suppress the bacteria. I doubt if hospitals would own up to the fact that the substances they are using to kill the bacteria are actually killing the patients.

There is something strange going on in hospitals as they have one of the highest suicide rates and morbidity rate of any profession but that is another topic.

It's pretty much impossible to stay completely clean anyway.

Think of everything you touch next time you have a shit. Do your wash your belt down, the tap, the door handle etc etc after you've washed your hand also?

Exactly. We are covered in bacteria - inside and out. This planet is teeming with life - and all these microbes are simply forms of life doing their thing just like us.

Lots more harm caused by all the chemicals we use to kill these creatures than the creatures themselves.
