.....and fast food is so cheap these days. Probably going to sound like an old fart here but we hardly ever had fast food when I was a kid. Maybe once a month we'd get a takeaway from the chip shop and that was a real treat. None of these toys with the meal to entice you either.
Personally, I physically can't eat McDonalds. Seriously, it makes me throw up eating or drinking anything from there, even their overpriced salads. I can get much better salads for half the price from the supermarket anyway.
That is a good point about fast food being cheap. It costs more to buy the ingredients to cook your own meal than it does to go get junk at taco bell.

Fast food isn't cheap anymore imo. I can make a healthy meal for much cheaper than it would cost for me to go to MickyD's.

I can go to taco bell and get a ton of junk from their value menu for cheaper than what it would cost me to make home made burritos or home made spaghetti sauce.

People have got lazy though. They can afford fast food quite easily and they prefer to get that than get off their arse to cook a proper meal.:(

Their dollar menu is just as cheap as the $1 store. The $1 store sells a lot of organic food.

Did anyone know this wonderful little gem of information? :D

I don't why many don't bother to cook because cooking is so much fun. Except for the cleaning up after part. :p

No I didn't know that. The organic food at my grocery store is through the roof with their prices. I didn't think they sold any food at $1 stores except cheap cereal.

We have an allotment. We don't buy taters, onions, chilli's, tomatoes, leeks, peas, beans, strawberrys, raspberrys, etc. Hopefully the trees will start producing and we'll get plums, peaches and cherries next year!
Dunner get much fresher than that!!!

Wish I had a garden.:( We had a huge garden when I was growing up. One year when I was about 8 or 9 I grew over 90lb of tomatoes all by myself without any help.:)

Yeah they are a rip off. You can get great stuff for great prices at a local market. Here we have what is called Sprouts - great produce prices. The dollar store also sells produce here and 'boxed' or 'canned' type organic / no preservative type foods.

We are remodeling everything at our place. Front yard is done. Can't wait until we get to our backyard. We are planning a garden on our side yard and whatever trees we plant will all be fruit bearing.
