you have to put this into perspective.
we have lived here with a civil war(UK) raging for 200years.irish protestants and catholics .blaire was partly responsible for the peace treaty which has meant that after
spending most of my life wondering whether or not to shop in cities for fear of being blown up by terrorists from the IRA.
our politicians had to remain neutral in this area for the price of peace.we
all know whose faith is what in our politicians,but for the sakes of our citizens ,especially in northern ireland it was a small price to pay

the day that treaty was signed and all weapons given in amnesty was a
great day

That is certainly a valid observation. Just a sad situation all 'round I guess.

I knew the IRA were a problem, but I don't think I understood the extent of it.

Glad it's over. At least Mr. Blair did something everybody can agree on. :nod:
