But when you have credible opposition, it will still take people power to dislodge those entrenched in power.
There are permutations and combinations. Don't assume that those entrenched in power have a common goal. There could be many splinter groups within them. They could just break away and form their own political party. The upcoming generation will have new insights on how the country should be run. Those currently enganged in power are being thretened to open up or else they gonna lose seats in the upcoming elections. The trend now is a goal towards more freedom but the core foundations will still remain in tact.

Why should we talk bad about our country when we enjoy a good life here? For you guys good life means just chewing gums and nothing else matters. Gums matter more than the unemployemt rate of 9.5%:24:

By and large US is a great country and has always been one. The recent economic recession and financial meltdown has hit the working class badly and many of them are worse off now than before.

true, true, but you will NEVER EVER hear me bad mouth my country or even another country for that reason. if you really think that the US sucks so bad, why keep posting stuff to stir shit up? contribute something useful instead of trying to piss people off...IJS ;)

That really is the crux of it, what is the definition of good life? Economics is only one part as you can be a prisoner in a gilded cage.
If you give a prisoner good food, casino, good education, good job, passport to travel anywhere in the world including travelling to Disneyland, nightlife entertainment, hard liquor, pretty chicks, travel to USA to study at Ivy League schools then he rather be sentenced to life imprisonment:24:

Look at it from a wider angle. Nobody said US is all screwed up. We send scholars there including Westpoint, Stanford, MIT, Yale, Harvard, Princeton etc. 1000s of american companies invested billions here. Why they would want to invest in the so called prison state?

Living under such a regime, you're probably better off living with the delusions. At least you can tell yourself how happy you are. Laughing histerically is one of the symptoms when you avoid dealing with the reality of the situation. ;)
