Heck yea I've made em on the grill. When camping everything I make is made on the grill. Hell during the warm months I make almost everything on the grill lol.

The oven has a burner on the top and the bottom

When you bake you use the bottom one

Actually both elements are used when baking.

When you broil you use the top one. Broiling gives a similar result as putting meat on a BBQ

When you broil depending upon the meat you would put it on a rack so the fat drips off.

That's true. When using the broiler the top element is on high all the time.

Not in my oven

When it is on bake it always is just the lower element

I have never seen the top element on when baking. Except with a small table top gizmo
Wow I've never owned a stove that the top wasn't on while baking. Maybe you otta touch the element next time you bake something just to make sure. I'm not joking... I'm dead serious.

The elements turn red so I think I would notice but I shall check next time.

Plus if I put something on the top rack it would get cooked much differently

I am pretty sure the top element does not go on in the bake mode

Not necessarily. It depends what temp you set it at. When I bake I try and have what I'm baking in the middle of the oven. If I broil, which is rare, I have the rack as high as what I have in the oven will allow but not high enough to burn.

That's true and that's why I follow what I posted above.

Ok this experiment will just take a minute. Turn your oven on to 400. Open the door asap and touch the element. If you feel it starting to get warm remove finger immediately. :D

The only difference is how they describe it. It's the same thing. Keep in mind we call a cooker a stove and they call a stove a cooker. How fucked up is that? :24:
Yeah, but that was Dana that said they were different. ;) And, in my neck of the woods, barbecuing is anytime you put something on the grill, regardless of what it is. I had to teach V that it's not called a "grill out" just b/c you're not using barbecue sauce on anything. LOL

For us, the grill is outside. Then you have an oven and stove inside.

My oven is gas and is only flames in one place. If I bake, I put it in the actual oven. If I broil, I have a broiling drawer under the oven. My oven and stove are one unit, so the stove sits on top.
