I rented the first one fully expecting to love it, and didn't like one thing about it. I haven't tried to watch the second.

The first one was never released in theaters it went directly to DVD because it was made after the Columbine incident and there was a bill on violent movies. So the first Saints was never released in theaters so now it's a cult classic. Learned that from the commentary with the director Troy Duffy.
