I am on the 8th, or is it 9th Sookie Stackhouse book. These are so much superior to the HBO True Blood series. Lets see, what would you rather be- Vamp, Were, or Witch? :p

Are the books anything like the TV show? I've been wanting to read this series for a while now, but wasn't sure if it was worth it.

Hmm, I'd for sure want to be a Witch.

I'm on the epilogue of the second book in the Mortal Instruments series. The author's last name is Clare. It's a really really good series. I surprised myself by getting so into it.

I'm also reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It's pretty good. I haven't gotten to the meat of the story yet, but she weaves an excellent tale.

Haven't read that one, any good?

I think some of his later work is a little too dry for its own good some time.

it's pretty dry

Don't get me wrong - I like dry, but this is almost boring.

Do you like Ray Bradbury? I LOVED his Martian Chronicles.

Out of his later work, only Deadeye Dick stood out to me. But it too at times suffered from that overly dry, ironic overtone. I got the impression that Vonnegut felt it neccessary to end almost every paragraph with one sentence of sardony. Although at times it was funny.
Still, you'd struggle to find a better book than Mother Night or Cat's Cradle. :thumbup

I haven't actually read any Ray Bradbury, I hate to say. And I really should have. :surrender
