Read eclipse this weekend.

She's a much better character in the book then in the movies we watched last week. I really don't understand the complete lack of emotion from Bella in the movies now. Because the book character is more then one dementional... not a lot more, but more

JohnLeCarre_SmileysPeople.jpg
Smiley's People by John le Carré.
Its a spy novel about an ex-chief facing enemies (and allies) from the past.

The Proud Tower: A Portrait of the World Before the War, 1890-1914
by Barbara Tuchman
An incredible book (from the 60's) that gives some sense of the world (and how different it was) before World War 1.

I just finished reading Horrors of the East, it's about Japanese cruelty and propaganda during the Nanking massacre right up until the end of WW2. It's a must for anyone interested in military history, Japanese culture, or those who are simply interested in reading about disturbing atrocities committed under the Hirohito empire. I'm now reading Old Tales of Japan (yes, i'm in a bit of a Japan phase right now) which covers the 47 Ronin, Samurais, old ghost stories, etc.

I know all about it man, I am really big on history, especially around that time, the Japanese did terrible things to them and not many people even know about it. you should watch "Oxen Split Torture", probably the best torture film I've ever seen and is also Japanese, which you seem to be into.
