Still reading Cleopatra: Histories, Dreams and Distortions by Lucy Hughes-Hallett but I'm also near the end of A Visit From The Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan.

I'm on a bit of a Tolkien kick at the moment. I've read LOTR and The Children of Hurin in the last couple of weeks and I've just started The Silmarillion. :thumbup

I started The First Lord Of The Ring books and Silmarillion when I was 13/14ish but I never finished them (never even got 1/4 of the way through them). Maybe I should give them another try.

 You should. Actually, if I were you I'd start with The Hobbit and then read LOTR. The Hobbit is a fairly easy read and makes for a good lead up into LOTR. The Silmarillion is very interesting too but it reads different, almost like a text book. It was harder for me to stay engaged in that book even though I find the history of the elves fascinating.

If I see them in the library or in a Charity shop I'll pick them up.

I'm about to finsih my book on Cleopatra so I'm going to start a book on Anglo-Saxon England either today or tomorrow. I am excited.

Just read "Calling time on the Krays" by Mrs X (the barlady). Pretty good, makes a change seeing the Kray story from the right side of the law.

Murder without conviction by Scotch Jack Dickson. One of the worst books about the Krays, the guy was a grass, a hypocrite, a bully and a cunt.
