I just finished Brave New World for the fourth time. Wanted to redo the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy for old time's sake, but Catcher in the Rye has been calling from my bookshelf for weeks now and it won't be ignored much longer. Wish there were some decent NEW reads out. I've been re-reading the same stuff over and over for almost a year now.

Loved that novel.

Yeah, I'd probably put it up there against any of the classics of Western Lit in the 20th century. Pretty sure it would hold it's own again Hemingway, Faulkner, or Fitzgerald.

Don't thing it would hold up to Solzhenitsyn's 'Gulag Archipelago'; IMHO, that was the Great 20th Century Writing.

But I'd put 'Sometimes A Great Notion' up against any work of fiction. Splendid book. How the hell Kesey managed to write like eludes me. Sorta like Bukowski.

I'm reading Under the Dome by Stephen King.

I'm about 40 pages into it, its quite grotesque so far but the imagery is good, gets me right into the storyline and forgetting everything else, looks to be a good read.

Just finished that. I think you'll like it.
The book has a large cast and I have a HORRID memory for names but I still had no problems keeping everybody straight.
