shes got me on a close tonight 12:30am so by time i get home to bed will be 1:30 plus the clocks go forward so 2:30 then i have to be up at 7 to be back at work at 9am. having had 4 and half hours sleep i have to do a 10 hour shift. Some times i wanna kill that woman!

just to rub salt in the wounds a normal shift when starting at 9 will end at 5 but cos shes an exctra bitch shes put me on til 7. *wimper*

Also in the 5 months she has been working for us. she has done 3 closes. and one of those she went home early cos it was "quiet", then every one got humped when the theatre finished. She has NEVER done a close then open.

all i can say is i may not have a job by the end of sunday if i am wokring with her. i am gonna be a right foul mood! and shes decided that if we put anything through the till wrong or we make a mistake and dont ring somehting through. we gotta pay for it out of my tips. Im just about at breaking point with her.

Pink there have got to be better jobs. Waitresses are always in demand. Haven't we had this convo. before? Come on gal quit tolerating and get ur ass out there and snag a better job that you don't have to work like a dog at!

Verbalizing here @ forum I hope helps ease up the tension :thumbup

Applying for another job is your best bet however gotta be practical with the kind of economy we have today. Maybe find another job first where you can transfer b4 quitting your current job :D
( juz my 2 cents )

I can really sympathize with you.. sending hug hugs across the pond.. :smiley31: ... and wishing I could be there to teach you how to handle a bitch.. :p
Hang in there, sweetie, I know you can do it!!.. Keep your eyes and ears open.. and keep looking for that opportunity where you can get out of there..

If you are desperate, try to look for any job, anywhere.. during your time off.. I read you want to get your foot in the door at one place, but if that is not going to happen any time soon... anything you can find will be better than having to go through all the stress you are experiencing now... A cashier, sales person, even a job stocking supermarket shelves will do for now.. :)
Just try not to quit your present job before having something ready and waiting for you..
If you plan it carefully, you can find another job, quit the one you have now, and immediately start your new one.

Many years ago, when I was younger ;).. I used to have a good job at a restaurant in NYC and the general manager of the Hard Rock Cafe was a frequent customer there.
She liked the way I worked and when they needed a more mature person -read older here :p-, she offered me a job at the HR cafe, telling me they wanted someone with lots of experience because they were in the process of opening a private room for some of the artists looking for privacy.. The offer came with the promise of a big paycheck also..
After some consideration, I accepted and went for an interview with all the other managers.

On my first shift, I met another manager, a young girl that got on everyone's nerves, so everyone warned me about her..
Considering that at that time I had three teenagers and a twelve year old at home and she was the same age as my oldest child, I thought I could handle her.. after all, I was probably her own mother's age.. Big mistake on my part!!.. :eek

She made my life miserable from day one, making me go through the same training -as a waitress, and without tips- as all the other wait staff, even though I had 20 years of experience and used to train my own waitresses at the other restaurant... she would give me one or two tables, when she knew I could handle a whole restaurant by myself.. and would put me on the oddest schedules.. and like you, I would end up closing and opening back to back.

After a few weeks of this hell, I went back to my old boss, explained my situation and asked him if I could have my job back, and he say yes.. He also asked if I could I start immediately.. ;)
I said of course!!.... I can be here tomorrow after lunch.. ;)

The following day, I went to work at the HR like every day.. I waited until she went into one of her nasty tirades, and the moment she started yelling at me, in front of the customers, I handed her the tray of food I was carrying and all the checks from all the tables in that section.. and took my apron off, right there, in the middle of the room..
There were no empty tables in the whole restaurant, and the lines of people waiting outside for one were about two blocks long..
That day, four of the other waitresses had called in sick, so I was handling that section by myself..
I left her standing there with her mouth open and went to the back room, changed into my street clothes... walked out of there, walked the two blocks to my other job and started working there a few minutes later..

She must have been fired soon after that, because on the following week, I was on my office and one of the girls came in to tell me someone was looking for a job and wanted to speak with the manager.. of course, that was me.. :D
When she saw me, her face went white... she opened and closed her mouth... then said "Oh.. Never mind!!.." and walked out of there in a huff.. :D:tongue:

Again... hang in there and don't loose sight of your goals... Go through one day at a time... Take tiny little steps, putting one one foot in front of the other, until you can take that leap!!.. :smiley31:
