All I see is white as I look out my window. While not terribly bad I'm thinking about tonight, when they're predicting its going to get a lot worse. Didn't have school today so that's a good thing :D

We had a coating of frozen mist this morning then warmed to about 35. When i was on my way home from the pharmacy it snowed like mad with big flakes for about 2 hours. Since then it has just been light snow and flurries. Just north of us about 20 miles they got twice what we did. Folks up in the Tug hill area got hammered and will end up with several feet as it is streaming off the lakes.

first two pictures were from the day before...the next one was what greeted me when we woke up this morning (Saturday) the next one was from our front door (no way we are going out today! state declaration) next was our cleaned off porch so our furry friends could do their business...there is one of my backyard, picturesque, yes, but damn would be insane to go there! Our grill is about 10-15 feet from our patio and it was a measuring stick as to where to "throw" the snow....

Yesterday around 3:30pm

Still looks noway near the 1-2 feet we were supposed to get. Plus with the drifting it makes it look like less.

Snowfall started a little after 9am yesterday and proceeded to stop and start up again as the day went on...by nightfall the storm pretty much stopped though there was persistent wind leading into today...overall, it's estimated about 6.5 inches of snow fell, well below the anticipated 10-12 inches...major roads are fine with some salting needed, as temps are supposed to be bitterly cold at 1 degree tonight

Where I am in Maine, we often lose our electricity when we don't expect it (like on a nice day). Yet we never lost our electricity during Winter Storm Nemo. Go figure.

The biggest reason we didn't lose our electricity is because the snow was powdery, not the heavy, wet snow that can cause so many problems. But considering that we recieved 30 inches of snow and some wind, I'm still suprised that we never lost power.
