when working at Toys R us for my one year there, I experienced one Black Friday...people started parking in the lot @ 3am and started pounding on the door at 4 because they were cold and the demanded us to open the doors so they could keep warm....

Not that anybody asked, and I realize I've hijacked the thread, but this is my nephew and his girlfriend, Kelsey.

No way, what a freak show :p
:homo: The Canadian equivalent is Boxing Day. I did that once and I don't think I'll be inclined to do it again any time soon. The actual shopping was fine. I don't mind crowds or lines too much. It was the traffic and idiots in the parking lot that gave me intense rage. angry008.png

This pretty much sums it up for me. Christmas is just not what it used to be. Things have become so inexpensive that people no longer delay their gratification. Christmas was a when folks got things they needed and a few coveted toys. It was a time when a woman wouldn't have been pissed if she got a new vacuum cleaner. Try that today, hahahaha! My grandmother always replenished my dad's socks and underwear at Christmas. I got new clothes which was a thrill and because getting new clothes was not a common occurence, it was appreciated. Folks need to put their wallets back in their pockets and back away from the shopping cart.
