If he get a bike, he could be dead.

Hes no more likely to kill himself on a bike than he is in a mustang GT. Ive been riding my whole life and have had accidents but if you ride sensibly You'll be ok. Shit does happen, but it can happen in a car too.

Again... :agree

That is very true. People die in mustangs every day. Same as camaros and in the shitter. People die just like everything else. Yeah, i ache now and then from some bad spills I've had on bikes, but I would not give up riding for anything. I am still looking for a good deal on another bike.

Here is some advice bub, DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. Just my $0.02

Exactly, i know the risks involved in riding a bike, but the way i see it, if i ride smart im not gonna kill my self, hell i may have an accident but if im riding smart it wont be teh worst

We've always wanted a bike. But, we know how we are....beautiful day...hop on the bike and hit a couple bars. There are plenty of bars with back porches to pull right up to. Leave that one...hit another. Bikes and booze DO NOT mix!!!

I know 3 people that have died on bikes. And 2 of those WERE NOT drinking!!! To say you have just as good a chance to die in a mustang is close but not 100% true. You do have protection in a car. Yes, you could die, and will probably get hurt very badly...but on a bike there is no protection. My cousin's husband was 30....middle of the day. No helmet, but his head was untouched. A kid with his temps hit him and threw him over 100ft. His body looked untouched, but his insides had been crushed.

Bikes are ALOT of fun, but you have to be responsible. You have to be smart!

Sorry about your cousins husband. I know that there is more security in a car, thats kind of common sense. The point I was trying to make is that there is a certain amount of danger in anything you do. If you were gonna not do things because they were dangerous, you would sit in your house all day because you were scared youre gonna die. I say if he feels like hes ready for a bike then go for it. Theres no sense in not being happy just cause theres a chance that something might happen to you. Ive seen accidents at the strip that had left people mangled or even dead but thats not gonna stop a single one of us here from racing. Hell, we're even getting together in Oct. and making an event of it.

I do agree!!! Just make sure you are ready...learn how to properly drive one...and dont do things to tempt fate....like drink.

100% agreed. I love to ride but I absolutely know better than to do anything that impares me when I know I'll be riding. I wont even have 1 drink w/ dinner if I know Im riding. To be perfectly honest with you that is one thing I am scared to do. :dunno

Well...like I posted before...I was in your same shoes and rode 1 suzuki 650cc as a 1st bike...1st time on it...crashed into an 05 mustang and a 00 intrepid...outcome....4 bruised ribs, bruised hip, 2 cut up arms and 2 cut up legs....the 600 is the weakest of the bikes....but dont let it fool you...the 600cc does a 10second quarter mile....these bikes are no joke.

There are plenty less aggressive. You got the 250 ninja, 250 rebel, Route 66 250, Gs500E etc..... I could go on and on. Besides, its not really about how big your bike is, its about the respect or lack thereof for it.

I think bikes are lots of fun, but they are just not safe. What happens if a dog or a deer runs out in front of you? I have a YZ125 dirt bike and its fun, but I am not driving on the road and I don't go fast as hell on it.

Okay, here is my 2 cents. Riding on a bike is sooo much fun! If I knew how to drive one I think I would buy one for myself. But for now, I just have to ride along. But hey, its fun.

I guess it just boils down to different strokes for different folks. I'm very comfortable while on the road. Extra causious, but comfortable. I used to feel more weary of driving the camaro than my 929RR.
