For those horror junkies out there....

What is the best horror movie of all time? I have lost my faith in horror movies. Most of them are just not that great. One of the creepiest I have seen is Session 9. It's older but it's still a really good one. If you haven't seen it...grab a bottle of good wine and your man!

I'm going to go with my avatar and say Jeepers Creepers. Not the goriest but then the goriest ones arn't the scariest or best, its so full on that it's stale.

Jeepers Creepers was Ok but I agree that the Omen was pretty good. Really GOOD horror movies are hard to come by. My husband gets mad at at me becuase I will rent ANY movie that has a remote CHANCE of being good. What can I say....I love a good horror movie!

Elfen Lied.

Not a movie, but it is my favourite horror, since it's story doesn't just sound like an excuse for a horror.

There are some of these that I have never heard of. I will have to go find them next weekend. Hopefully my husband has plans :)

I loved the imagery of it but it didn't scare me like everyone told me it would. But take that with a grain of salt because I watched it in the middle of the day.

I don't know what my favourite horror movies are... I know the Shining is a classic. 2001, even though it's not technically a horror movie, scared the shit out of me in the first 40 mins or so.
I liked Silent Hill a lot, despite the flaws of it.
Videodrome is great as well.
Audition was a fun time.
INLAND EMPIRE, if you want to call it a horror movie.

I don't really know... I can't even remember what I've seen. Too early.

I'm torn on that one. It was intriguing and different and thats good, but some things in it were just so horribly bad. I probably wouldn't watch it again but I'd love to have it explained to me. Starting with the guy with the pyramid thingy on his head.

Did you play the games? I'm guessing you didn't since you don't know who Pyramid Head is? I'll explain what I can of it (it's been a while since I've seen it too.. so.. memory..), but I just gotta know where you stand, haha

Yeah, some of it was bad, like the dialogue but the atmosphere/visuals were just so spot on and I love the whole Silent Hill mythos anyways, how everything symbolizes something.

Oh. Well, the movie seems to state that there's 3 levels to Silent Hill. The normal one that some people see where nothing bad happens, the mist filled one which is kind of like purgatory I guess. And then there's the last one which comes when the siren goes off. Basically Hell.

Silent Hill tortures you based on your mind, your guilt, whatever negative stuff happened to you gets embodied in Silent Hill. I won't pretend to know what every symbol stands for, or even Pyramid Head, but I will say, in the game SH2, Pyramid Head represented sexual frustration. I'm not sure exactly what he symbolizes in the movie.
Honestly I'd have to watch it again, so I'll have to buy it soon, I've been meaning to anyways.
