Sadly I haven't read a paper in ages as I get info online. But I've always liked Calvin & Hobbs.
I was a fan of Opus too.

Aw I love Calvin & Hobbes! I've got a couple of the books, and my dad had loads.
I read an article about it once that said Calvin was different from other comic characters, in that he prefers to be alone and his best friend is imaginary. I found that a bit sad, never really thought about how solitary a lot of his storylines are.
I love the love-hate relationship with Suzy though

Calvin and Hobbes would be tough to beat. Definitely one of the all time greats.
