anyone know where I could find a knit belt? it has to be gray. I bought my mom a cable knit sweater for Christmas but it doesn't have buttons and I was thinking maybe a belt to wrap around and tie would look good with it.

It doesn't *have* to be grey, but your best bet might be looking in thrift stores or somewhere like etsy.

you probably won't find knitters, but a lot of them do nice macrame and they're always happy to do custom orders. if you like, i know some of the kids here would jump at the opportunity if there's at least 20 bucks in it for them.
because i'm such a nice guy and i want to impress all you nice folks with that fact, i'll wave my usual 20% fee if you want me to inquire locally, but this close to christmas i can't make any promises on timeliness of delivery.
